NBC10 Philadelphia: Local News App Reviews

This app needs loads of improvement. Everywhere from UI issues (could have smoother font layout and use the Apple system font), to the fact that its very glitchy and opens the same story in Safari every time you click on a notification. If it can open in the app, why duplicate open it in Safari? Please fix...extremely frustrating.

Stories have numerous embedded links to other stories that are distracting. Too many push notifications about news stories that are sensational and/ or tragic in nature ( fires, car accidents, crimes) and the notifications lead to story pages with auto playing video ads wth audio. These ads dont respect my phones volume setting and play audio even when Im in vibrate mode. This is an example of reprehensible, disgusting corporate greed and Im sick of it.

Do we need to see the same freaking commercial before EVERY video? Going.. Going... Deleted.

Ive grown to really dislike this app. On a typical day Ill get 10-15 push notifications about various news stories. When you click on the alert or the story in the app it takes you out of the app and to the NBC10 website which then proceeds to show you an ad for their iPhone app and recommends you read your story on it. Well, I tried. And Im tired of trying. So Im done.
